It has now gotten to where people can tell that I am losing weight. That makes me feel amazing and soooo encouraged. And the next thing they say is "How are you doing it?" So, now I will share with all of you.
I have struggled with my weight most of my life. In my teen years, I dropped it off and felt good about myself but something about having kids...the weight slowly started creeping back and no matter what I did (diet/exercise) it found permanent residence on my body.
The past year and a half, I was under a lot of stress. I realize that I eat out of boredom....and when I am stress. In just one year, I gained 36 lbs and reached my all time high. When you are already stressed out, the last thing you need is to get depressed about your weight too. My plate was full of commitments; I was even taking 3 college courses. To try to keep up, I was drinking soda all day and/or coffee. I would eat to get enough of a sugar rush to be able to accomplish the next thing on my to-do list. And worse, I was having sleeping problems. Either I couldn't sleep and barely getting 3-4 hrs or else I couldn't get enough, and slept 11-12 hrs. No matter which it was, I would crash between 4-7pm every night. After an hour power nap, I would energize enough to keep going until bedtime. I desperately needed some big change in my life.
December 27, 2010. I was in NC for Christmas and my sister invited me over for a wrap party. I had no idea what to expect and didn't want to get undressed in front of anyone. Figured I would just do my chin. Or maybe my arms. But it was very discreet and private and after you are wrapped you just pull your shirt back down and it does it's magic while no one can even tell. So I gave in and wrapped my belly. The wraps, actually called body applicators, detox you so it is important to drink water. I knew I was toxic so I heeded this advice!! gulp, gulp. Within 45 minutes, most people lose inches....I gained 3.5 inches!! I was so disappointed and figured this was a gimmick. It was explained to me that it just meant I was very toxic (which I figured anyway!) and it was very, very important for me to drink a lot of water over the next 72 hours. Even thought the wrap only stays on until all the lotion is absorbed, once the herbs/botanicals are absorbed, they work for 72 hours. So, I figured why not, I need to drink water anyway. The next day we drove back home to Florida. After the 72 hours, I had lost a total of 3.75 inches and 4 lbs. Actually, I have never heard or seen anyone else actually mention a weight change but I then decided I wanted to do something about my health.
The inches lost was great. But the biggest difference I noticed was the detox effect. Right up until the day I wrapped, I was still taking in 7-8 caffeine, sugar-loaded drinks a day. I have often tried to stop but the headaches almost wasn't worth it. This time, immediately, I no longer craved the sodas or coffee. And no withdrawals, like headaches. I was shocked. Also, the fast food no longer even looked appetizing. With one simple body applicator, my tastes had changed. The detox was working. Now I have done detoxes before with colon cleanses and juice detox, nothing worked like this did!! Jan 6- decided I need to make a conscience decision to lose weight, which meant eating right. At this time, no exercising yet. Started to take Vitals/Greens. Vitals are our vitamins/minerals. I had a friend scheduled for surgery to remove a lymph node and ended up no longer needing it. I was taking fifteen different supplements a day and now this duo is all I need.
Jan 11- already lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks!! Started taking measurements.
Jan 26 - Started using some of the meal plans and weightloss challenges that is available with FitWorks.
Feb 12 - monthly measure, lost 12.5 inches in one month!
Sometime around here, I started using New You. I joined the gym I think it was the 23rd of Feb and wanted something to help me get the most of my workout. Also, whenever my weight drop would slow down, I would take Thermofit to help boost my metabolism. (Remember, all natural products!! Don't ruin your health taking dangerous supplements in order to get healthy. Defeats the purpose, doesn't it?) Also, added in the Defining Gel, which I put on twice daily.
Around the first of March, I started taking Regular as well. Only one pill at night. It is a continuous, GENTLE colon cleanse. (Tried some of the other ones...YUCK!!) Mar 13- lost another 10 inches. In addition to tracking my weight and inches, I am also tracking body fat %, bone density, hydration %, and BMI.
